Andrew Seward leaving Against Me!

i dont know what to do. i am crushed. this band is a huge part of my life. i hoped that they wouldnt fall apart when Warren left and now Andrew is gone too. i hope all the best to everyone and hope this doesnt mean the end to an amazing band (as LJG makes it sound after the current album is finished). anyone else feel the same way? very sad day for me

I love Against Me! but I think they've kind of gotten a bunch of press due to the whole Laura thing. Most press that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise, but may attract people who don't like their music and simply want to see it as a (pardon me) "freak show."
Maybe that's wrong, but that's just the way I see it.

I'd been working on covering their whole catalogue for months before hearing the news. Andrew's my favorite modern rock bassist. I got all of the ones I've done so far uploaded here.

I think they're just attracting new fans that relate to Laura's gender identity but aren't necessarily punk fans. I don't think there are very many people that want to see it as a freak show. I always want more fans for my favorite bands, I hope the new ones stick around so we get many more AM! records. They just need a bassist and drummer now...

The band has gotten pretty far away from what made them who they are, though I really did enjoy White Crosses. They seem to be regressing back into a Tom...er, Laura, solo act.
