I went to the Andy Frasco & the UN at their Chicago show at Thalia Hall this past Friday. What an incredible show. If youre not familiar, they are like a cross between Nathaniel Ratliff and the Blues Brothers. The energy is off the charts, the musicianship is top notch, and the showmanship is something you would expect from James Brown. Andy does an incredible job as a frontman by providing space for his band to shine in their own moments. His ability to give up control of the stage and sit back and become a audience member to his own band makes everyone feel like magic is happening. I promise you, you will have the most fun youve every had at a show. It is a party and Andy is the Captain. I hope you get a chance to see them live. Special shout out to Floyd Kellogg on bass, he is working overtime all while flying around the stage. Love is OC2 Sub Bass stuff that is featured on a couple songs.
