Just watched it this morning, it's pretty great!

This is some wild musicianship. This loops are wildly complex timing wise. Both of the necks on that guitar are microtonal.
The practice that went into this should be admired.

Nifty. I don't recognize his looper but it clearly has a couple of independent loops. I have a Boss RC-50 that has three. Infinite creativity....
Why not? That’s far from Kiss outfits, more in the realm of the Residents or Klaus Nomi, perhaps a bit of Devo.
I have worked with too many bands with gimics or halloween costumes or whatever you want to call it. Sorry but I don't care for it

These two are putting across a sense of Dada, musically and visually, interrelated. It fits.
The costumes don't bother me at all; in fact just contribute to the What The Fork???!!! factor. I'm a pretty musically conservative old fart, and I love the schmidt out of this!
I mentioned in another thread how they showed up in my YouTube feed last week and I still keep going back to it, fascinating to me for some reason. That alone makes it art to me.
KEXP has introduced me to so many great bands and this is yet another one.

Exactly. I got the Residents vibe strongly (after Dada) and Kiss is dumbed down, while this is dumbed up. There is more content in a minute of this than in a whole album of Kiss (keep it simple, Salvatore) The multi looping skill alone is astounding and I would love to know how he is fitting them together.
This is pretty good. It feels like since they're using unfamiliar note intervals with the microtonal thing, a lot of the musical information is coming through rhythmic effects and timbral textures. I'm two songs in and so far it is very enjoyable.
I'm wondering what about these is reminiscent of KISS to you. They seem much more clownlike to me.
In the comments for the video, Snakefinger(a Residents associate, of course), Primus, Beefheart, Death From Above ‘79, and Buckethead were referenced in comparison, and I’d add Fred Frith(and by extention, Henry Cow), plus 80’s Irish band Stump as well.
That’s all on a musical level, and then let’s not forget the godfathers of guitar looping, Fripp and Eno…and ol’ Bri was quite the freakazoid clothes horse back in the day. The angular look reminds me of certain Weimar Republic era expressionist films, plus the artwork of Gary Panter(Pee Wee’s Playhouse and Frank Zappa album covers).
