Well, shoot. The way the socket is oriented, the cable adapter would point up. I need for it to point downward to be useful. Back to square one.

The Bulgin PX0588 connector goes the other way. It has screw terminals and is rated for 10A at 250V.

Also found this, which is describe as "up angle":

YC-12L-2 (Up Angle IEC C13) USA

Down angle:

YC-12L-3 (Down Angle IEC C13) USA

The last two are pretty much made to order fully custom fabricated cables. Might not be cost effective to order just one.
