Anita Baker's Bassist ?

Anybody know who was Anita Baker's bassist around '91 ??
he was kickin it Gooood!

I'm not sure who was the bass player in 91', but somewhere around the mid to late 80's, there was a live performance of one of her shows with Gerald Albright playing bass for her. He also played an occassional sax solo.

Nathan East did the bulk of the bass work on her records back then. IIRC, Sekou Bunch did the live dates.

"Ready" Freddy Washington did a ton of work with her in the late '80's into the '90's.

The second album Rapture from 86 was a who’s who of the greatest bass player. But 1990 and into the early 90’s it was mainly Nathan East. Compositions is a great record featuring live rhythm tracks with Nathan.

Freddie Washington and David B Washington mostly. David was her regular touring bassist and had a long relationship with her before she became famous. Other session guys like Nate East Neil Stubenhause and Jimmy Haslip played with her as well.

Thanks for the tag! I haven't listened to Rapture in a long time but this is a good reminder to revisit it!
