Another,Another Killer Pawnshop Score !!!

The same Pawnshop I've score my latest killer deals,gave up the goods again.Again I wasn't looking for anything in particular,but I couldn't pass up this double score. First I saw a Roland Cube 100 Bass amp in MINT condition for $99. That's a no brainer cause they go for about $490 new with tax.The next item I got to hand pick out of the back of the store. The Mgr. let me go through all the guitars and basses that were coming out. I found a MINT '88 Peavey Dyna Unity LTD. Honey Sunburst bass in a mint HSC for $ 149. These in MINT condition like this go for about $500-600 without a case. The manager is now going to let me go back and sort through all his amps and guitars whenever I stop by. I guess it pays to be a regular customer. Here's some picks of the Roland and the Peavey bass.

P.S. - I realized today why I'm scoring such unreal deals. THEY CAN'T READ. They had the Roland amp listed as a Fender Mod Frontman 35 on the price tag. The name of the amp and model are right there in their faces. Oh well, I'm sure this is going to be a VERY good year again.

Your Peavey has the same inlays as my TL-5. Same bridge and look, including cavity, body style, and battery box, but mine has 5 strings and 2 super ferrites. good scores.

That Peavey is easily equal to a modern day $1500+ Cirrus in every way except perhaps the preamp (though I liked the one on my Dyna back in the day). Congrats. Your Pawn shop is amazing.

$149 is a smoking deal for that Peavey, but the going rate for those is in the $350-$400 range. An identical bass sold on ebay a couple days ago.

Man, I can never find any bass deals like this where I live. Scored a USA-made Fender Hot Rod Deluxe guitar amp for $85 though.

Those are amazing deals. How long ago did you score those Fenders? I can't believe anyone in the pawn industry (giggle!! ) would let an old Fender out the door without checking it's value. The Peavey you scored is a great deal as well, although I can understand how that one might've slipped through the radar. If I remember correctly, that was probably Peavey's top of the line bass around the time it was made.

A cynic would say that the people who are selling them to the pawn shop paid nothing for them in the first place i.e. five finger discount.

Great finds though. We don't really have pawn shops in Britain, but if we did I'd be keeping a close eye on them.
