Another,Another Killer Pawnshop Score !!!

Lets just turn this into a thread about wanting idiot pawn shops. and how much we are jealous of you.
That jazz bass for that price is really painful to think about. Deal of the century, my friend. How did you stifle yourself from laughing maniacally and skipping out the door?
The same Pawnshop I've score my latest killer deals,gave up the goods again.Again I wasn't looking for anything in particular,but I couldn't pass up this double score. First I saw a Roland Cube 100 Bass amp in MINT condition for $99. That's a no brainer cause they go for about $490 new with tax.The next item I got to hand pick out of the back of the store. The Mgr. let me go through all the guitars and basses that were coming out. I found a MINT '88 Peavey Dyna Unity LTD. Honey Sunburst bass in a mint HSC for $ 149. These in MINT condition like this go for about $500-600 without a case. The manager is now going to let me go back and sort through all his amps and guitars whenever I stop by. I guess it pays to be a regular customer. Here's some picks of the Roland and the Peavey bass.
P.S. - I realized today why I'm scoring such unreal deals. THEY CAN'T READ. They had the Roland amp listed as a Fender Mod Frontman 35 on the price tag. The name of the amp and model are right there in their faces. Oh well, I'm sure this is going to be a VERY good year again.
This is the same Pawnshop I scored the '79 P-Bass for $180 and the '74 Jazz for $64.64
What a deal - interesting in selling the Roland?
Actually I got kinda cocky with the sales guy. I pretended to be upset that it didn't have a case. I told him that this might be a deal breaker and he should knock of something from the $59.95 asking price. He said it just came out and he's sorry he can't do more than that.Needless to say I stopped my little show and paid the guy the $ 59.95 + tax and left with a big smile on my face. I started the uncontrollable laughing when I got in my car.
One more person here who hates you. Actually, it's envy. The best you can find in pawn shops here are beat up Squiers that are priced only a little higher than new ones and the occasional Peavey that is missing chunks of wood and various parts.

to find great deals in Texas pawnshops. The pawnshops around here are internet savvy, & have everything overpriced.
I frequently visit a lot of pawnshops, & the only true 'deal' I found was the Ampeg B-15T for $199.00 + tax. Interestingly, the same shop had an Epiphone acoustic guitar, made in China (not even a Masterbilt) for $799.00
. I figure they priced the amp so low because they weren't able to find much info on it.
At one shop I did find (but didn't buy) an Aria Pro II semi-hollowbody guitar for $149.00, and a Carvin Special all-tube 100 watt 2x12 combo guitar amp for $299.00. That same pawnshop was featured in a local undercover TV news story for dealing in stolen property. I wasn't surprised.
As someone previously posted, I wonder what the shop making such great deals loaned/paid for the gear in the first place.

Well thats because CT is crap. The good parts of CT are the pizza, GGuitars, and Upton Bass. Other than that I need to move faar away from that place once I'm able.
yeah the whole '5 finger' discount makes me sad to think about. at least you are loving them like the original owner "might" have and not trying to sell them for what they are really worth. Isn't there somewhere you can look up serial numbers to see if they are reported stolen? I would buy a $64 jazz, hunt the owner down and just give it to him. I'm sure there would be copious amounts of beer and food that would go with that transaction. And a life long friend probably! I can just picture some old dude that's playing a squire since his '74 Fender got stolen.
