ANOTHER Behringer Cutting Out Issue

I have that same amp head and I have run two 8 ohm cabinets and didn’t experience your issue. I did however have this problem with my Carvin 2x10 but, I cracked it open and found one the speaker wires had come off the terminal, I fix it and never had the cutting out issue again. IMO it sounds like a cabinet issue. Do you have anyway to test the head on two different brand 8 ohm cabinets? To find out if it is the head?

Unfortunately, no. How loud do you set your amp at?
 
I have TWO of the Peavey 410 cabs. Each is 8 ohms and handles 800 watts. Could those 2 cabs linked together just be too much for a 300w @ 4 ohms head???

Are you pushing the bass? Personally I think the head is underpowered, but I’d listen to agedhorse and check the cabs. He knows a thing or two in case you’re not aware of his pedigree.
 
I'll take your word for it. Now, is there a way to remedy this? I only have the amp at half volume. The gain and master knobs are both at 5.
I missed the “immediately “ part of the issue.
Others are correct in having you look for conditions to cause too much current being pulled at the output portion of th amp.
Can you run the second speaker cab with the second speaker cord without the first setup?

Coming off the terminal is ok- where it touches becomes the issue.
 
I really don't think it's thermal, it happens as soon as he connects the second cabinet. Thermal time constants are way longer.

It's possible that there is not enough over-current margin and something with the pairing of the cabinets is dropping it below the OC threshold.

Mistakes get made in manufacturing, it's possible that it's the amp but IME it's more likely the speaker.
Good point. I wonder if that is set by hardware or firmware.
My observations of that brand are not very positive.
Mixers and outboard equipment are “OK”.
Speakers and power amp sections are under built to put it mildly.

QC is questionable.
 
In defense of Behringer, I have a rack full of their iNuke amplifiers, as well as a couple of their EQs and compressors. The only issue I've ever had (other than reactions of gear snobs) has been with one of the amps and that was the fault of a bandmate who flipped the "bridge mode" switch while the amp was running, putting the amp into permanent "protect mode". Other than that, they've performed flawlessly in the several years I've been using them. The last gig was an outdoor "K9s for Warriors" benefit in 90F heat a month ago. They ran full-tilt into 4ohm loads from 11am until 6pm without missing a beat. I don't know how similar the iNukes are to the UltraBass on the inside, but I'd assume they are pretty similar when it comes to the output sections.
 
I have the same 300w head and had the same issue with the head cutting out on a 2 speaker cab at 4 ohms each. Switched to a single 4 ohm Hartke 112b cab and I can run it at full power without it cutting out.

I agree with the others, measure each speaker terminal on on your cab.
