Another Craigslist what the hell is that

Jabba the Hut played that bass on his first album before the Tatooine world tour in '87. Some people look like their dogs, some look like their basses.
I can’t imagine that there’s a large market of bassists that want “La Cucaracha” printed on their bass in giant letters
I agree, it's a well executed little art project. Reasonable offer... as a bass guitar I'd go maybe 600 bux. But as an art piece to hang on my wall... it's kinda cool and original- and I would venture to say aesthetically pleasing... I know several local galleries that would have no problem asking $2k for a sculpture like that
Very cool concept. He should have completely made it his own. It's a stretch to call it a P bass. But people will remember you when they see this bass!

I don't know, to me it looks like he bought some knock-off neck compared to the real neck on the bottom. Note on the real bass there wouldn't have been room for his decals. The Craigslist neck has that "new Chinese copy" look to it.

An artist used and displayed it for an exhibition—probably hung on a wall—not played. That would also account for the over zeslous price that the guy’s asking. It’s an “art piece”. It just so happens that it’s still a functioning guitar.

That flying roach on the headstock grosses me out almost as much as the carving of the body. And that roach really grosses me out.
I always have to check these threads to make sure it's not something that I've posted on Craigslist.
i don't know why but when i read that my scalp started tingling and itching, my neck got tight and cramped and I started laughing. very strange
I immediately thought Cuban when I read it was done by a Miami artist and had a "Fidelitron" pickup.
I look at it and this nagging question remains, why on earth?
To me it reminds be of what we used to call “Souping Up” a car. For example, you take a 1963 Rambler American, you can replace the wheels, chrome it to the hilt, install fat tires, tint the windows, put a spoiler on the trunk, and jack up the rear end, but at the end of the day you still have..... a 1963 Rambler American.... that in reality you paid way too much for.
