@lowdownthump Bacchus already say Hi to us.

I got this cheap Bacchus jazz bass which smoke the Indo Squier CV and Fender player J easily with just spend equal to current squier Affinity J price.

FMIC need feed too much high salary employees, but not mean Made in USA are worth that crazy high price.

It's all the R&D that goes into the new designs that Fender makes. They gotta pay for it somehow. Oops, wait, wrong company. They've been rehashing and selling the same two models for 60 years... :roflmao::roflmao::drool:

I walked out of Waffle house the other day after seeing the price increases.

I passed on that $4 bottle of orange juice the other day and decided to wait until it goes on sale.

Gone to a fast food joint and tried to order lately? I went to arbys yesterday. half the items weren't available and the store was closing 5 hrs early because they had no help. I walked away from Wendy's not long ago when I saw a baconator combo was 10 bucks.

Yeah, welcome to the new normal.

Yes, COVID has had an impact on prices and supplies, but as far as I know, there is still a trade war going on that has not been resolved.:meh: Three months ago I paid $399 for my Squire Classic Vibe 60s Fretless Jazz Bass.:D There have been two price hikes since then and now it retails for $479.o_O Shipping just went up again as well.:banghead: This is as good reason as any to return manufacturing to our own country. ;) I don't think we would have any where near the supply problems or inflation if more products were made right here in the good ole USA. Just my opinion.

I have to say that I've yet to play a Fender I liked as much as the Warmoth parts basses I've assembled.

I build my own basses - Warmoth is my supplier for wood parts. I do that because,at least for my needs, they’re better basses. The fact that they’re slightly cheaper* is not the point, but it is a nice side benefit.

*If I “pay” myself a reasonable wage for all the time I put into a build, the equation tips the other way.

Yeah, welcome to the new normal.

I thought bottled orange juice was one of the most volatile food commodities in the US for the past 15 years... Didn't you folks have some kind of blight that killed off a whole bunch of supply?

Not.

Current US inflation rate is around 5%. That equates $50/thousand. Fender’s recent price increases are significantly higher than that.
That's an average rate across the board. Depending on the good or service, individual economics affect individual prices. Not saying Fender is outside the standard deviation.

EDIT: Note that I said "preferred profit margins".
