Another fretless Vs question

Hi TBers,
I have the opportunity of buying one of 2 fretless ibanez soundgear SR 300 DXF - I can drive to pick up either OR a Squier modified fretless jazz that will need to be shipped. I want the squier but am terrified of having a bass shipped.
Has anyone played/got either, is the Ibanez worth getting.

How do you think guitars and basses get to the music shops? They're SHIPPED, right? So as long as you get the bass insured you ought to be good. Really, both basses are going to serve you well; get the one that you WANT rather than let shipping vs. non shipping make the decision for you. That's what I'D do.

Cheers for the reply but trouble is I've played the squier and loved it but they don't come up for sale second hand often and the person selling hasn't personally shipped before.
But it really is the Squier I want.

I say get the Squier then. If you know you prefer one, you should get that one without considering shipping or not, as in the end it'll affect your playing if you like it better or not. Besides, shipping is usually safe, and make a deal so that the person shipping will cover any damage cause during.

Suggest that he take the bass to his local music store for advice on shipping a bass - they might even have a box they'll let him use.
