Hey everyone

I know you're probably getting sick of these threads, but I just recently purchased a sound card and I'm just testing it out. I thought I'd do a sound demo of my 3 P basses (A fender, a squier and a westfield). A westfield is a real cheap company (price wise, they're probably on par with SX, if not a bit cheaper)

I'm using the same strings on each bass (EB Hybrids Rounds) and all basses are plugged straight into an M-audio fast track then into Audacity. No effects, EQs or comps are used (hence why it almost clips on some notes) to capture to true sound of each bass. All basses have the stock pickups that were installed on the bass in the factories

Basses 1 and 2 have a maple fretboard. Bass 3 has a rosewood board.

Precision Bass Blind Test (Fender vs Squier vs Copy) - YouTube

Bass 1 starts at 0:00
Bass 2 starts at 1:44
Bass 3 starts at 3:18

See if you can guess which bass is which. Thanks for your time :)

UPDATE: I've just uploaded this to my soundcloud. The sound qualities a bit better (not a huge difference) http://soundcloud.com/fbs96/3-precision-basses-blind-test

Am I the only one who can't hear it? Everything else on my comp is working fine sound-wise, and yep, the video volume is full up.

By the way... I wouldn't do YT uploads for this in the future as it degrades audio a bit when you upload. Sound file hosting is probably better.

Are both speakers working? All the sounds has gone to the right speaker when I put it in audacity. Nothing comes out the left.
Should I upload it to my soundcloud account to get a better sound?

I won't pretend to be able to tell. I'm definitely in the "Fender ain't necessarily the best" camp and I'd be willing to bet that a simple pickup swap would result in each of the basses sounding just like the other.

So, I didn't vote but if I had to choose favorites here's my order:

First Place: Bass 2
Second Place: Bass 3
Third Place: Bass 1

I'm interested to see which is which.
