Another Help Me Build My Pedal Board Thread...

Ok... I've decided to foray into building a Pedal Board for fun. I play mainly Classic Rock and some 80s Pop.

So far I have...

Line 6 G50 Wireless

Cioks Big John for power

TCE Polytune 2 Tuner
Tech 21 Bass VT Deluxe for my grit/dirt
MXR M87 - Compressor

I am looking at either the MXR Carbon Copy or the TCE Flashback for my Chorus.

What other pedals should I look at that may be useful?

I do have a Line 6 Bass Pod XT Live that I'd prefer not to use. I like just tweeking the knob VS navagating through multitudes of frggin' patches.

Oops.. Yea, I'm an idiot. :wacky: Yes, for my Delay.
And you hit the TCE Corona that I was looking at. I'll check out the MXR Bass Chorus too.

I haven't given much thought about the Octave, yet. Was also wondering about a synth pedal but am not sure how much use I'd get out of it (unless its for a Pop song)?

Just trying to get the most Bang for the Buck. I'm not trying to emulate any one particular song. We could be doing anything from Ac/Dc to Zepplin with any number of Pop artists thrown in. I'm thinking a bit of chorus would sound good on The Romantics- Talking in your sleep.

I know... no help, right?

If you ask wich pedal you should add to your pedalboard, surely a great number of TBers they wil post their replies here and it can occour that the list it be so long, so they´ll gas you a lot. :D

For 80´s tunes you can go wrong with an Octaver, a Chorus and an Overdrive. I tell you that based in my own experience in a pop/rock cover band too. With this tree pedals I covered my musical needs in the 90% of the cases.

I find a nice basic analog octaver to be hugely helpful in my band which is somewhat similar to yours as regards song choice.

Personal favorites - Boss Oc-2, Musitronics/Mutron/Mu-fx Octave Divider and COG T-65.

I've often looked at the OC-2 but I'm curious about its tracking down to the "E" string or does it have a point that it won't reproduce below?

Mine tracks down to the A sometimes G (but that's iffy and I can't really hear it on the E string). It won't do an open E if that's what you're wondering. You wouldn't be able to hear it if it could. Octaves work better for most people when you play higher up the neck.
