I read through the 101 thread but didnt find the answers I am looking for. Essentially I am looking for a cheap way (sub $40) to record to an ipad. If I get garage band and the iRig, will this suffice? Can you even record with the iRig? Im not looking to get a fancy professional sound, just something simple that I can write drum beats and record bass/guitar onto. Thanks for the help.

I don't know about drum beats. Can't answer that. Record bass/guitar with iRig & GarageBand. Yes, you can. Absolutely! It's pretty easy. It's cheap. The sound quality is lacking.
