I started watching it on my lunch break today. I got 20 minutes into it. Already I can't wait to get back to it!

For anyone interested in this story, there is a play called Copenhagen (Copenhagen (play) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) by Michael Frayn that is a hypothetical story about a meeting between Heisenberg and Bohr. Heisenberg visits Bohr at his home and tries to recruit his old mentor to join Nazi Germany's quest to harness the atom for both energy and weaponry. The two men debate scientific, ethical, and moral issues before Bohr ultimately rebuffs . The was a TV version produced by the BBC in 2002 that also aired on PBS, and I lucked out in finding a DVD of it once. I'd love to see the play sometime, though.

The world is fortunate that the Nazis' irrational hatred of Jews also led them to reject scientific discoveries made by Jews, including Einstein. Otherwise they might've figured out the secrets of making nuclear weapons in time to actually put them to use.

I've been watching when I can visually pay attention enough to read the subtitles.

If you don't mind the subtitles another interesting, though fictional one worth checking out is "Occupied". Set in Norway in a not too distant future energy crisis.

I binged yesterday and finished "The Heavy Water War".

I was somewhat familiar with the story, but WOW. Never could imagine how something that difficult was pulled off.

Those Norwegian guys knew thier stuff.

Such Bravery....and sacrifice......young men, just kids fighting the war to save the world.......such respect

I finished the series last night. Amazing story, and an excellent production as well.

The reservations the operatives had about causing civilian casualties while achieving their military aims was palpable.
