Another New Old Guy Wanting To Learn Bass

I'm turning 62 next month, so, I thought that I would once again try to learn an instrument. Roughly forty years ago I decided to buy a guitar and take some lessons. I had a really good teacher (he went on to play guitar with The Ozark Mountain Daredevils), but I was in college and working, so, I didn't put any time in and quit.
Not long after that I thought I would give the bass a shot and bought a bass and took lessons from a fantastic bass player that went on to play bass for Mickey Gilley. Same story as with the guitar though and ended up quitting.
I did find out along the way that what I really enjoyed was buying gear and I bought a lot of cool stuff that I didn't know how to play. In 1986 I even bought a used Steinberger for $1,000. Not very bright spending that kind of money on what was nothing more than a decorative piece. I eventually gave up that silliness and sold everything.
Today I paid $138 for a Squier Bronco bass and am once again going to give it a shot. I went short scale because I dislocated my left shoulder a few years ago and don't have full range of motion anymore.
If anyone has any recommendations on some good video lessons on YouTube that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hopefully this time out things will click into place for you.
There's plenty of resources out there to help you along...too many, in fact, the wealth of knowledge available these days is staggering.
If you just want to learn a few songs to jam along to I'd suggest How to Play Bass from Paul Wolfe (how-to-play-bass.com)
He's got plenty of easy to follow videos on youtube, and presents in a simple fashion.

Reading through the pinned threads in that sub-forum should give you a good idea of where to go.

My best advice...take it slow and have fun!

I'm new here too. I learned a lot on a YouTube channel called "Bassbuzz".
It's VERY beginner friendly, yet still cool and fun.

Also, cool bass. I was thinking about getting one of those Broncos but ended up getting an Ibanez Mikro short scale instead because they had the Ibanez in stock and I didn't want to wait.

Btw, that bit about changing your goals from playing an instrument to buying gear is hilarious
