Another P/J wiring diagram issue

The bottom flatwork (the black plastic pieces) has solder eyelets in it. The lead wires are soldered to them. On the inside surface of the flatwork, the actual coil wire is also soldered to the eyelet. That's what connects the coil to the wiring harness. You can see the coil wires running to the eyelets in your photos - it's thinner than a human hair - very, very fine wire.

Take a careful look at all of the solder eyelets - maybe with a magnifying glass - and make sure those coil wire leads are intact. They are so fine that they are very easy to break. A coil wire breaking off the eyelet is probably the most common spot for this kind of pickup to go open circuit, and you can often see where it's broken.

The fix can be very challenging since the wire is so thin and so fragile. Sometimes it's a matter of using a fine probe or needle point tweezers to hold the broken wire in place so you can briefly touch it with a well tinned soldering iron - get a little blob of solder on the iron and it'll transfer to the coil wire and solder it in place.

if you look and can't figure it out, let us know. Unfortunately, breaks inside the actual coil are more involved, but they're also less common.

Peavey knew what they were doing when they built those pickups - they're well shielded and they exposed both ends of both coils in the wiring so you can swap it to parallel if you want. Good design and worth saving if you can!
