Another P vs. J analogy!

I came up with this genius one this morning :
Ps are dogs, and Js are cats!
Dogs are always there for you. Cats are more mysterious and fickle.
Cats are for people who like subtlety and a certain sleek aloofness. Dogs are for people who appreciate having a faithful friend who always greets you happily and honestly when you get home, no matter how long you've been away, or what time of day it is.
If you need someone to jump through a glass door and drag you out of a burning building, you need a dog, not a cat.
If you're hosting the Queen of England at your house, and want to impress, you need a cat (a beautifully groomed Persian, wearing a diamond encrusted collar and lounging on a purple satin cushion), not a dog.
Whaddaya think?? Make sense? :)

Makes no sense.

The Queen is perhaps the world's most well-documented "dog person." I'm not sure why cats would impress her.

I'm feelin' ya dougjwray! There is some truth here.

Unfortunately, for all of the progressiveness and creativity that exists in talkbass, when you use analogies and allegory, some of us can't get with it. So strange and ironic that that would be the case on a forum called TALKbass... but such is life.

;)

Why is it that you feel it necessary to come up with some analogy? I really don’t understand why people feel the need to try and make a comparison over and over and over and over and over again.

I'm about to take my ball and go home. :(
Tough crowd...
Ok, I'll play.

P basses are like German beer. They all taste the same (but good) thanks to the German Purity Law.

J bases are like Northern Cali beer with a lot more variety of flavors.

Let the dog and cat fight begin!
