Another question about ohm ratings.

Hey all!
I am upgrading the speakers in my older peavey 410 tfx cabinet. It is a 4 ohm cabinet with a crossover and a tweeter...

I ordered and recieved 4 new eminence legend bp102s for the project along with some 12 gauge wiring and connectors to upgrade the 16 ga that is in it since I am upping the wattage so much. In an error I ordered 8hm speakers so what I plan to do is wire it like two separate 2x10 cabs (one with a tweeter). two 8ohms speakers wired in series guves me 4 hms to the apm, right?
i will use two cables from my amp (Darkglass micro tubes 900) so I ordered another 1/4" jack plate and jack.

I have had this cab for 25 years and will probably til I am dead, plus I will label it (so I am not worried about resale.

Anybody see any major problem in my plan here? I don't want to screw anything up.

Thank you in advance

Guys, I don't claim to be the smartest guy in the room on this (that's why I am here asking questions
There is no benefit to asking questions if you are going to ignore all of the answers.

As I stated before:
Before doing anything, I suggest modeling the drivers in the cab to make sure they are a good choice

Chuck,
This will be my last post on this. The BP102 (4 ohm) isn't going to give you what you're looking for either.
The Sheffields frequency range is 60Hz to 4kHz.
The BP102 frequency range is 40 Hz to 2kHz.

Your crossover was designed to work with the Sheffields, not that Eminence.
Being stubborn about this is costing you $$$. Listen up and stop wasting your money.

I can't find my part number cross-reference for Peavey, is there a label on the back of the magnet designation these as Sheffields?

If so, your upgrade to 4 ohm BP-102's would (IMO and IME) be a DOWNGRADE not an upgrade.

There were also a couple version of this crossover, including one with a lop pass filter on the woofer. If this is the crossover you have, the crossover is designed around the stock woofer's mid voicing.

If you don't want answers to your questions, please let me know and I will stop trying to help.

Your appearance of stubbornness makes me wonder if you appreciate the efforts that several of us have put into this, I for one don't particularly care to waste my time if you aren't going to take the advice.

If memory serves, the crossover frequency used in that cab is 3000 or 3200 hz, so those speakers are inappropriate for the cab.

Pep, Thank you.

I do appreciate the time you all have given me. Many of the opinions were basically that they didn't think it would sound good, or were a muddy speaker choice, or the like, when as far as I had been concerned I asked about an ohm rating issue, not for subjective opinions in speakers themselves however.... you have pointed out a hole that would exist in the frequency response of this proposed set up. That's a valuable insight I hadn't realized or considered. Thank you.

I have no idead how one would deduce which crossover this one is..

If you're set on using yr new speakers, it might be best to, if possible, try and make the cab work for you.
Smarter minds than mine will maybe help you here
Don't get the impression he cares about doing it correctly.

As I said a couple posts ago, I sent the speakers back, I am going to reorder the 4 ohm versions if I can find a crossover that is made to work with them. I am surprised that companies like Eminence, and Celestian don't have kits designed to work together with speakers, crossover, and tweeters... in 2x10, 4x10, 8x10,2x12,1x15 etc. they could even offer cab size suggestions for them.

Anyhow, thanks everyone for your insights.
