If that's your ideal setup, then just go straight for that. Don't compromise for the sake of brand matching, especially with such a great variety of available, lightweight 210s.

Anybody try the Aguilar DB series vs the SL series? Is there a noticeable difference in tone? The DB 210s might be my solution, but just one is heavier than the whole sl410x.
I should note, I've been in the process of downsizing for the last year or so. My original rig was an SWR 750x with a working man 810, but I haven't gigged in a long time so I just wanted something smaller more practical that I could use at home, but would also handle jamming situations in a rock band with a loud drummer and most shows if it ever comes down to it. I chose the sl410x because of the size/weight and because it seems to be the most practical 410 I've ever heard of. I only later decided to get the ag 700 after watching Aguilar videos of the cab. I currently have an avatar 410 which is fine, but i don't like the carpet covering/size of it.
Matched would be better, but I just got a 4 ohm Glasstone that I like a lot. My drummer likes a cab in his face, almost, so I’m moving my 8 ohm fearful to him. Ohms are 2.6 amd my Bass Block 800 is good down there, so I’m not stacking nor even looking for even power distribution. When I bought new, yes, my DNA 112 s are matched 8 ohms.
This would be my strategy, or better yet, two 8 ohm 2x10 instead to start with, then add a third later if necessary.
I'm digging a pair of GK cx210 I got recently. Notable for the greater height (19") than most, so when stacked taller than a typical 410.

And I would rather schlep two or three 2x10's than even one 4x10. But that's just me!
The *mesa* 210s look pretty nice.. but 65 lbs?? The sl410x is only 49 lbs.

None of us can predict what you’ll like, but that doesn’t mean we won’t try.
First, based on your stated needs, I think you’ll find two 210s will cover most of your louder situations. And, as you said, a third can be added later.
It seems weight and form factor are somewhat important to you. Since you like the AG700, I would think a Bergantino HDN210 would make you happy. 10 years ago, the Aguilar AG500 and Berg HS210 pairing was favorably reviewed. The HDN210 could be considered an indirect descendant of the HS210, assuming it was voiced anything like the HD210.
But that’s a pricey cab, at least for my budget.
You might also want to consider the Mesa Boogie Subway series. They are very well reviewed, have possibly the best warranty in their market, and post some of the most transparent performance ratings.
Also, don’t shy away from 115 designs or even 12s. You will probably be surprised.
I know all speakers are different even if they are the same size, but I had a 2x12 and didn't like the way it sounded. Seemed muddy to me.
Also weight doesn't bother me too much, it's more about size. 65 lbs just seemed excessive for a 210. I loved the way my SWR 810 sounded, It just took up too much space.
