We're still dealing with a company that repeatedly denies the problems even exist, but then blames their own customers for the problems, which according to them don't exist, but it's the users fault, for a problem that doesn't exist.
My comment about it costing more than $50 was me being a smart-aleck. It's nit-picky and silly. You stay to serious and you're gonna frown your way into an early grave.
And Will, where are you getting this from? You keep hammering this statement, are you hoping that if you repeat it enough it will become gospel? Look, I'm just a guy, totally not involved in the inner workings of the company, but I sure as heck didn't see the memo where we were supposed to 'Deny all problems associated with Amps A, B, and C'. The way I see it, problems were addressed, changes were made, we move on. Hence whatever Rev that we're on right now. I'm pretty sure we're not required to make an annoucement to the press every time we change something. Maybe the world is so TMZ'd out watching "news" that Kim Kardashian wore stretch pants to the Carl's Jr. yesterday that we think that we should be privy to all information by RIGHT.
The other portion of your statement has, I believe, been addressed on these forums. But in case you missed it I will throw in MY take on it, as just a guy. I ALSO didn't see the official tech support documents stating "Don't turn up your amp past 5". As far as I know, this was an isolated and uninformed answer from someone in tech support. Could be it was the guy's first week here. Do you have any idea how green some of the kids are up there? I don't think some of them can even shave yet. I'd be shocked if most of them knew the difference between Ampex and Ampeg when they sit down at their desk on their first day. Do you get where I'm coming from?
+1to replace a 2 year old out of warranty or two week old 2nd owner's disaster the markup should be Zero% and free shipping if you ask me.
Child labor is cheap, who cares if the customer is getting uninformed information. The other portion of your statement has, I believe, been addressed on these forums. It was a copy-n-pasted email, from Ampeg (LOUD) themselves, to a customer themselves. Should it really matter where it came from? Should any company ever treat their customers like that?
I'm just trying to help my neighbor get a working pf rig again after his self-destructed at the ripe old age of 3 years. In my book, amps last for 30, not 3.
Ampeg's made a ton of great stuff, but it ain't this stuff.
PLEASE don't make me quote myself.

Well saidI like you Hodgy, but you're fighting a losing battle here. Don't go down with the ship, the suits don't give a damn about your honor.
LOUD just needs to fess up, admit there are problems, give people a reasonable solution and move on....not blame it all on some poor schmuck new hire in the customer service cubicle, or blame the customers for cranking up an Ampeg.
Their resisting this makes them look like far bigger asses than if they just took care of it the right way to start with.
They're getting to be like a modern-day Nixon......the coverup being worse than the crime.
Fix the damn problem, give older customers ammicable solutions, stop blaming everybody else for their own shortcomings and move on, please.....thank you.
OK, on behalf of Ampeg, I'M SORRY!!
