Another 'what micro amp' question

Hi guys,

Due to space issues looking for an expandable, portable micro rig I really like a round sound with big bottom and smooth high end. Not muddy but clear. Markbass is not an option since I really need a headphone out. Also like to have enough power on tap and a quality DI.

Will start out with one speaker (probably a Berg HD122 or Barefaced 15) and add an extra speaker over time.

Amps I'm looking at are:

- Glockenklang Blue Soul
- Tecamp Puma 900
- GB Streamliner 900

Looking for some advice on pairing these with Berg and maybe some alternatives in same range.

A SL 900 with a fEARful 15/6 would be a killer rig. Huge lows, great mids, clear top end. Very portable for what you get as well.

I own a Streamliner, gigged a Heartrock (and played the Blue Soul a bit at NAMM), and owned a Puma500 and was involved a bit in the power amp revision, and also played the new 500/900 at NAMM.:p

All great! With the Bergantino HD112 x 2 (I have not had the pleasure of playing that version, but am familiar with the HT112ER, which has the same driver), it would be either the Glock or the Puma for me.

The Streamliner is big and fat and wonderful for what it is, but is a little bit too much of a good thing for my taste with the Berg HD112 (again, assuming it is at least somewhat similar to the HT112ER).

The Puma500 and Berg HT/HD/HS is a thing of beauty... fat, punchy, clean, crystal clear highs, and the EQ in just the right spots for the Berg to my ear. It is a tiny head (smaller than the Markbass F1), with great EQ points. No fan... very quiet.

The Glock Blue Soul sounds like a Glock.... warm, fat low end and a sweet 'ping' to the top end. Great quality, a bit relatively large, a bit heavy (not micro) and quite expensive over here. The Glock has a very signature voice that I eventually tired of myself, but it is a first rate piece of gear

The Puma900 would rule all that stand before it in every way IMO:D (again, assuming you want your tone relatively transparent, and very clean).

IMO and a bit of IME.

By the Soul II you mean the Blue Soul i guess?

Its not on your list but I own the x2 HD112 stack and loved the sound of the Aguilar TH500 through it. Fast, quick tone - but still warm and almost tubey sounding.

I'm with KJung on the Streamliner & HD112 being a bad mix. They both aim in the same direction (warm, thick lows low/mid tone). Combined, its a big muddy.
