Anthony Jackson Alright?

I've been fearing it would happen for a while. I sure hope he's okay. 2016 has been absolute poopie for musicians. If we lost AJ...

I saw on another site that Hiromi had to cancel show because Anthony Jackson had a medical emergency. Has anybody heard any updates?
Okay, just read. He is recovering from a stroke and is having speech difficulties.

RE: Asia Tour 2016

To our fans

We regret to inform the public that an unforeseen and sudden medical emergency has developed affecting both Anthony Jackson and Simon Phillips. Both musicians' diagnosis makes them unable to travel and perform the scheduled shows this summer in Asia.

Unfortunately, we have to postpone/cancel our Asia concerts. Regarding festivals, we will not be able to continue in the current format but will present Hiromi in a unique way.
We sincerely apologize to all our fans and to all those affected by this situation.

While currently under medical treatment, our thoughts are with Mr. Jackson and Mr. Phillips and wish them a speedy recovery.

To my fans,

I understand that there will be a lot of people who are disappointed by this news.
I am truly sorry for all the fans who have been looking forward to seeing us perform.
I am shocked as well that urgent medical matters occurred to both of them simultaneously, I really wish for their recovery.

I can only do my best under the unfortunate circumstances and I have to keep going believing that the chosen option is the best one.
For now, I will focus on my next performance and I promise, at the very least, that I will give everything I have to make it a great concert.
I hope you understand.

Oh my goodness!:crying: I know simply living is most important, but a stroke means there is a strong possibility that AJ has lost at least some of his ability to move his hands and hold his bass.

All I can say is that we are all human. Eventually our bodies fail all of us.

I sure hope Simon Phillips recovers. He is a lot younger than Mr. Jackson.

Wow, that is also not good news, medical situations happening with so many prominent musicians. Simon Phillips is 59, Anthony Jackson 63 or 64, somewhere in that neighborhood. Life is precious, that's for sure. I wish them both the best for a full recovery.

That's were I was lucky enough to see them. I have to admit, as well as Anthony was playing, he looked
"tired" to me. If I was his age and still on the road, I would be too! Fingers crossed for them both.
Yeah(sigh)The awful reality is that all of my music heroes are quite up there in age.
As well as me!
I actually dread hearing their names mentioned on the news.

I remember reading that AJ was also in a car accident a few years ago. I guess he went off the road in the winter and into a lake. Like I said earlier Chuck Rainey had a stroke and has recovered enough to play again. I also know Will Scarlett who used to play Harmonica for Hot Tuna he also had a stroke within the last year and is back up and around. He said his stroke effected the self censoring part of the brain and found himself saying stuff out lout that he usually only kept to himself. Trying to find the humor in this after reading AJs column in Bass player years ago where he caught almost as much flack as Jeff Berlin it might be interesting to see that effect.

C/S,
Rev J
