Any Advice On A Squier Affinity V Jazz

I just ordered one (sunburst) from GC this evening using their 15% off special they are running. I meant to ask where it is made.

I understand the 'hit & miss' aspect of the Affinities. I have a PJ (white) that is amazing out of the box; a red Jazz IV that is also amazing until you try to turn the truss rod the direction that lowers the strings; and a black/white P bass that has the smoothest neck and P sound and must have been mislabeled at the factory..... no Affinity P bass should be that good.

Anyway, we shall see by next Monday what I'm getting. I was adamant about their double boxing the thing, considering UPS and holiday shipping.

Squier made two Affinity's that good.

I never swapped the pickups and I probably used Ernie Ball or D’Addario strings.
I purchased one of these about 4 years ago from Guitar Center. The electronics were ok, but I'm one of those that like to make things better so I purchased a set of Seymour Duncan SJ5-3s and took them to Shawn May who works at the Canton Michigan GC for installation. He also shimmed the neck which made it play much better. Couldn't stop there so I purchased and installed myself a Richter JB-VVT Control Plate from Best Bass Gear. I must say this bass is a keeper for sure and a very nice sounding Jazz Bass!
