Double Bass Any experience with Bam cases? Good cases in Europe?

Hello everyone, the zip on my Roth & Junius case is breaking and i am looking to replace the case. I thought of the option of sewing a new zipper onto the case but that sounds quite complicated.

I was looking for a durable case in EU, and i see Soundwear recommended everywhere, however they're really expensive and don't seem to be as good as the US alternatives.

Online (thomann) i also saw the bam cases. I don't know if they're new, but they're cheaper than soundwear and seem of good quality, however i can't find reviews anywhere. Has anyone used these?

I haven't seen any of the Bam offerings for stringed instruments, but for WW instruments they are considered a step up from standard good cases.

I've had the Bam 3/4 case for almost a year now, and I really like it! Quality is well above the Thomann brand case I had before. The endpin pocket is fun; I haven't used it for my endpin (like most people I keep my endpin in my endpin socket), but it's a great fit for the standard foldable k&m music stand (or a decently sized coffee thermos). Bow pocket fits two bows.

The fabric seems very sturdy and is most likely 100% waterproof. I thought I would miss not having a shoulder strap, but the case is super easy to carry so I haven't been too bothered. All in all I think it's a great case and quite affordable considering the level of quality. Recommended!

My family has heavily used Bam cases for the size-challenged instruments such as violin and viola, and they're fine. Don't know what that says about their bass cases.

I realize you didn't ask for this specifically, but your case might be repairable. My luthier once suggested I find a shop that rents and services tents. They will have a giant industrial sewing machine.

Instead, I used my home sewing machine, and went through an entire package of needles, but did get the job done satisfactorily.

I've never seen a Bam bass case in person but the violin and guitar cases are very nice.

I have had one of those cases now for just under three years. Just a few weeks ago the zipper broke. I will try to have it fixed somewhere but I probably won't buy the bam case again if I have to replace it. It also has gotten quite worn a few places, especially under the scroll which I think comes from taking my bass in and out of my car a lot. I also have carried it a lot on a Double Trolley, it definitely has been through some stuff.
What I do like is that the bass does feel well protected, it has many good straps and handles, the pockets are good for whatever you need to bring of sheet music, iPad pedal etc. and fits a foldable music stand as well - it does get quite heavy with all this stuff of course.

Sorry, i kind of forgot about this thread. I really needed a new case so i bought it back in april.

Positives; i think the case is really good, it has nice pockets, the fabric is definitely more waterproof than most cases i've seen, and the handles are great. The zip also seems to be of great quality!

Negatives; using a bass buggie, the bow pocket tends to touch the ground if you don't push your bass around quite straight enough, so mine already has quite a bit of abrasion on the bottom. Biggest thing i miss is the shoulder strap, but if you have a bass buggie it's not that big of a deal. One other thing i don't like is that the zip opens all the way on top, so it's slightly more annoying to dress the bass if you're opening and closing the bag multiple times a day. Lastly, don't get the black one. In the summer it heats up at lightning speed under the sun, it can be scary especially if you have to wait in a place without shade.

Now it really looks like i posted mostly a long list of negatives; in reality i'm really happy with the case and it does most things great. But get the blue or red one.
