Any experience with the Markbass CMD JB Players School Combo?

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of buying this combo, since a local shop sells one and I loved the sound, looks and price. I'm just asking, whether it could provide enough power in a prog rock band (willing to buy another 1x15 for it if not) and whether I can count on it being reliable, because the price makes me question it.

Thanks.

Depends on how loud you need to be. You might be safer with the Jeff Berlin 151P version or the standard 151P combo. Either will give you 300w at 8 ohms or 500w with an additional 8 ohm cab. Both use a Little Mark III head. The main differences between the two are that the JB has no piezo tweeter and has the controls on the front instead of on top at the back.

I have the CMD 121H combo (LMII head inside, same 300/500w) which does well, but can get lost in a big, loud setting. When needed, I have done better with my separate LMIII head and either one or two of my Traveler 151P cabs.
