Any experience with the Pickguard Shop?

I'm looking to unique up my brand new 2021 Jetglo Ric by swapping out the pickguard. They have quite the selection, and with free shipping on orders over $75, I can easily 'pick' two that I like. I just want to be sure they aren't likely to arrive all sharp, misshapen, or otherwise jenky.

Interesting. In all of my years of poking around this forum, and bass-related interwebz sites in general, I've never even heard of this company. I'm curious to see if anyone else has.

"+420" in their phone number (if my quick Google search is correct) indicates they are in the Czech Republic.

haven't used the pickguard shop. I know who to avoid though!!! a guy from Florida QuickGuards is anything but quick! had him make a Gretsch Streamliner for me took about 8 months and tons of excuses and poor communication. Only reason he actually sent it to me was a paypal dispute i filed then he magically sent it! hes also an a**! i hope he reads this Mr. Quick

Hi. Newly registered to the forum but I have been lurking for ages.
I am based in Europe. The shop is as well. I have mixed feelings regarding it. I once ordered a Gold Anodized Jazz Bass Pickguard there. It took a while for it to be delivered. I think 2 or 3 months but when it arrived I was very happy with the purchase. High quality, true aluminum, rocksolid and fitting pickguard with a beautiful anodizing job. Really absolutely top notch and worth every penny. Communication had also been good. Packaging too. That said, I'm waiting for a Gold Anodized Precision Pickguard currently. I placed the order over 7 months ago. I'm at a point where I start to believe that I won't ever receive that thing. It's a shame, because their Gold Anodized ones are really awesome...and if they would actually arrive, I would recommend the shop wholeheartedly but there must be something going on...I will report back when/if I've received it.

Haven't received it. I have now cancelled the order after over a year but I haven't even received my refund yet. I don't think that I ever will. It's odd. I have once bought another one there and had no issues. Great pickguard, fast delivery. Nice communication. But this time it was an absolute failure. I feel completely ripped off. I am not sure how to proceed from here to be honest...I wish you the best of luck though. If you'll receive it, I think you'll like it. The quality of the pickguard from my first order was very good.

BEWARE of the pickguardshop!
Order placement works well, payment will be accepted immediately, further communication about details worked well.

BUT THEN...
- communication only if he wanted to
- promises not kept
- no delivery at all for months (still not yet)
- no refund

KEEP HANDS OFF
Save your money and look for a more serious business.
If the store unexpectedly delivers the pickguard anyway, I'll post it here.

Everything is fine now. He moved and finally sent the pickguard. He gave me the package number. The previous post in this thread would not have been necessary if he had communicated better. Now I will try again later with an order and think that it will work better then.
I've talket a bit with the man who is in charge of the mail. He says they're moving on to a new site and the response times on the mails i have sent to him have gotten better. I think the store has improved alot since a few months back. Anyways dont expect an order to arrive within a month, since i've been waiting since the 16th of april and now he said it would take 4-5 weeks for the pickguard material to arrive.

Any more experiences? I'm after a gold anodised scratchplate and as a lefty I've got minimal options unfortunately! Did a quote with tiny tone but it's too expensive for me to consider but the pickguardshop is a price I'm more willing to pay if it'll turn up

I placed an order with the Pickguard Shop last week, mostly because I wanted a color that Pickguardian doesn't offer on his site. I'll report back in a few weeks.

Well, THAT was a fast couple of weeks! :)

I heard from Mark at the Pickguard Shop early this morning via email (it's afternoon in Prague). A template of a pickguard for my bass (a Rickenbacker 4003) was attached to the email. Mark reached out because he wanted to make sure that the template he had pulled was the right one for my instrument. After checking, I wrote back and assured him that it was. He wrote back within minutes to thank me, saying the new pickguard would be done and shipped ASAP.

Here's where the experience brought a smile to my face. I wrote back and told Mark I appreciated his attention to detail, and that I looked forward to receiving the new pickguard. In a few minutes he wrote back again, asking if I wanted a standard or a beveled edge on the pickguard. (As I recall, beveled was NOT a choice on their web site.) I requested beveled. Mark quickly wrote back and confirmed my choice.

I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll be as satisfied by Mark's work as I was by this conversation.

I actually just went for it in the end and mine is also now shipped on its way! Process has been pretty speedy (slightly slower for me though due to being sent off for the anodisation process). Mark’s communication has been excellent, regularly providing updates as to where they are at with it and providing photos before and after the anodisation. It’s due to come this week and think I’ll be pretty happy with the outcome!
