Any Glockenklang players? Is this company still around?

Any company that tries selling me a power cable for better sound has lost me as a customer:

I'm pretty sure there is going to be no scenario of someone at a live gig going "God, the bass player sounds amazing! But somethings a little off. I bet he didn't use a Glockenklang power cable."

The BAC pre is capable of grit when pre gain is cranked.
When I first got it I hated it. I was trying every Pre in existence at the time. I sent it back. Then a month or so later bought it again, same one. It takes sitting there and seeing what those controls do. They actually allow you to tailor your sound like you want. It’s a finesse thing. When you’re done the sound you want is right there. In a moment you can compare to flat. Low mids hi mids all the controls are there. Designed for bassists. The eq loop can have just the highs pass so your lows are unadulterated. It’s not like some heads that have a dashboard of eq but none usable. Controls also act independently of each other.

Keep rubbing it in why don't you :atoz: lol.

Might have to save for a used one or old new stock.

If I could have at the least used the preamp at home for practice I would still be using it. More transparent electronics makes you play better and more accurate.
On there website they have a all class A preamp. No dealers in the area to try it out but I bet I would like it. Buying separately power amp and preamp seams to be out of fashion right now. Maybe the trend will resurface.

Why do some sound cleaner and transparent than others, must something else in the design?

Class A amplifier stages still distort when pushed hard, for starters. So gain staging matters a lot, to name just one design choice. A lot of opamps actually run in Class AB too, unless you do circuit tweaks to prevent that, which in turn brings other tradeoffs.

Thought I would resurrect this old thread. Gonna drop some coin on these two. I don't need massive power at the moment. I may buy a bigger cab at some point. Ive had a few D class amps but dont mind the size and weight of the older stuff.. I actually prefer a substantial looking amp.

Nice. I'm still using my Glock rig. I'd also be interested in your experience.

If this thread wants a bit of a revival, I just pulled the trigger on the gold Blue Bird head and a 4x10 Take Five 4ohm cab.
All from Thomann. Cost a pretty penny.
Waiting for it to arrive and I’ll give my thoughts!
Currently using the Epifani UL901 head with their Dist 3 4x10 cab. Fantastic rig.

Have been extremely curious about Glocke for the longest time. Hardly any info out there.

“Hardly any info out there.”
I counted over 40 videos on YouTube regarding this brand. 🧐

Not too popular in the US. A lot more info in this thread.

Congratulations wouldn’t hurt 😉

Bad wording tho.
Hardly any info on the Blue Bird - 2, 3 vids on YouTube. One thread here on TB when it was announced with very little info on actual ownership or usage.

And nothing on the take five cab.

If you search under my name, I have posted a bit (not a ton, but some) regarding both my Take 5 and the Blue Bird. I still own and love both of them. I am a very big fan of the Glockenklang brand, and I've owned and played a good bit of their gear. It is definitely one of my "top tier" brands, along with the likes of Bergantino, Euphonic Audio, Trickfish, and a few others. Even among different Glockenklang products, both the Blue Bird and the Take 5 stand out, IME/IMHO. Yes, I do slightly prefer the Bass Art Classic and Heart-Core heads, but the Blue Bird is also very compelling, much smaller/lighter than the BAC, and more powerful than the Heart-Core. I also have a (1,000w) Blue Sky, which is actually right up there with the Blue Bird.

Cab-wise, again, my Bass Art Classic if my favorite, followed by the Duo Art Light and Uno Rock Art Light stack, but as a standalone, the Take 5 is just fantastic, and it's one of my all-time favorite 4x10's.

So, in short, congratulations! You are going to love your new gear! :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::thumbsup:

Thanks for your input man!
I’m brand new to the brand and I’m going in completely blind. Never seen or heard any Glocke amps or cabs in person. Plenty of experience with their preamps.

I’m currently playing an Epifani rig I’m very happy with but Glocke fascination has finally gotten the better of me and I’m really looking forward to comparing the two.
