Any info on Spear basses?

Recently ran across Spear basses. There's local store carrying them. They only have the Flextool. Just not my taste. While searching for info I ran across the S-2. I know single-cuts don't get alot of love around here....but I'm really diggin the look. So...local store said they could "Order me one". I'm not a sight unseen kinda buyer.
My questions are:
What's neck like? Width/thickness
Overall quality of build?
Hardware?

Any info greatly appreciated.

I'm curious as to what price you were quoted for the S2....loving the look of the 6 string natural! I'm guessing that the store you are talking about is not a big box store? Keep us posted....

I think they said $600.

I did a search and have found a few people here who have owned them....not a whole lot of info though, although I haven't dug much further.

I know a guitar player with one. They seem to be built just fine. Fit & finish stacks up all right. I'm a classic look fan so the aesthetics don't do much for me.

It seemed to work as advertised...think he paid $2-300 for it...case too.

There is a guy on the forum here that plays with a band called Dakota Black down here in Central Fla. I think he is an endorser of Spear. Maybe he'll chime in.

My nephew recently got an endorsement deal of some kind with them. I haven't seen or played what he has yet but I understand its pretty nice.

I haven't owned one, just played one in London on Denmark street a little. It seemed ok for the price. Nice neck, nice quality, not the best mics and Eq, but Ok... Not anywhere near my Clement basses so I didn't get close to buy one. But if I was in the market for a decent six I'd consider it. Would prefer a Yamaha TRB 6 though... But don't know how they compare in price
