Any mountain bikers??

A couple more from Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks. This first trail is called lizard rock and it's sketchy. A few rock gardens placed in hairy parts. I almost rolled off a big cliff at the 2:10 mark.

This is the other side of the first trail I posted up from this park. This side is definitely more flowy. No stair cases like on the other side. I threw it together with one of my songs. :)

Have any of you guys ever tried any multi-day-week rides before? I heard you could easily? survive off $20 a day once you get rolling. I just came home from a 125 mile 2 day trip and my legs feel like stone right now. What kind of conditioning do you do to prepare for multi day trips? Any power foods to eat (heard beans + rice are cheap and healthy)?

We've done multiday bus trips to Tennessee and North Carolina and done a zillion miles in one day. Plus I've done Bike Fests at places like Santos in North Florida that we've done over 150 miles in a weekend easily. Saturday mornings are usually a 40+ mile Epic ride and there's just s many trails there. Like 120+ miles. It's nice to stay in the campground and morning ride 20+ and grab some lunch and afternoon ride another set of trails! shower and dinner and then night ride another 20 of so. That place is a blast.

We usually did the biggest Camelbak bags and maybe a handlebar bag. Panniers are more for road bikes in my mind, but I know they have them. I've not used the rack system. I'm still riding my old SantaCruz Heckler full suspension with a 36 fork with sometimes fenders in the mud but that's about it. Before that was my Nomad. The trans Rockies guys use all those bags and stuff. I've not done anything that hardcore or self-sustained before.

You guys are llucky you have such magnificent trails.

I made the transition to road bike due to lack of trails. Riding a MTB in the streets is not much fun where as a road bike is a pure blast.

But I really would love to ride a MTB on trails like this.
Yeah this particular trail is pretty cool. It can go longer if you climb up it farther. The day filmed this, I was running out of daylight so I cut the climb short. However, this trail leads to this trail, which is an epic dh flow fest. So when you connect the Santiago Truck Trail with The Luge you're in for a real treat.

The Luge.

Look what followed me home from my LBS... Typical Hope product. Exquisite machining and bling looks.

Here it is on the bike. Took me about 15 minutes to install it, fit the new chain and adjust the b-screw. Worked perfectly on a quick burn on the street. Can't wait to get it on the trail tomorrow night!
