Any Radial JDV mk5 Users? Opinions?

JDV mk5 has great feature set that I could use. Two bass inputs. Drag control for impedance match, great for piezos which more and more basses offer. Two HPFs to set for two different basses at once. 48v phantom or independent power. Mic input. Phazer to match mic and line signals.

Plus, it has additional features that one could use/grow to need in future.

Combining all that with Radial's quality and durability, the price appears to be on par with value of its feature set.

I am set with DIs, or I would definitely consider this offering. Look forward to user report for this new model.

PS anyone else see this as an advanced hybrid of JDV/Firefly?

Just wanted to give an update on my JDV use. It's got a spot reserved on my pedalboard and it gets used pretty much very time I use my electric bass. I use it as my main clean DI for laying down tracks while recording (I also typically run a Post-EQ DI from my Aggie TH500 and from my Zoom B3). It's my live DI for electric bass, and I even route through it in rehearsals since it has the HPF that comes in handy protecting my speaker cabs even when I'm not running to FOH.

My thoughts? It's clean. Very, very clean, clear and accurate. Uncolored. A good thing in my case since I can get any coloration that I want from my TH500 and or Zoom. Sometimes when I lay down three tracks at once I end up preferring one of the more colored tracks over the JDV when solo'd. But then then it comes time to place the bass in the mix I end up bringing up the JDV channel because it just has a clarity and dynamic response that the other tracks can't match.

I love the HPF and use it all the time. Another function that I dig is the drag control to adjust input impedance. I found that I prefer it much lower than I would have expected, I guess I just prefer a little more loading on my pickups. I have not used the second channel yet since I'm using a Fishman Platinum Pro EQ with DI for my upright bass for the additional control that unit offers.

Once I get some recordings completed I'll post up some links.

..yes..it would be nice to have a comparaison between the Firefly VS JDV Mk5..because i hesitate between this two direct box..but i think i prefere the JDV Mk5 !!
