Any skilled Pick Players?

Blacky from Voivod! When they started doing stuff like "Nothingface" he busted out some countermelodic stuff.

And regardless of the stage of the band's progression, he still always had awwwwesome fuzztone! Marshall guitar heads into Peavey cabs.

Indeed. Just listened to Nothingface and Angel Rat this morning. What a great player.

Others who have come to mind - Macca from Xentrix, Josh Pappe and John Menor from D.R.I., Paulo Xisto from Sepultura, Phil Rind from Sacred Reich, Danny Linker from Nuclear Assault/Anthrax/S.O.D./Brutal Truth, Rex Brown from Pantera, Mike Inez from Ozzy/Alice In Chains, David Vincent from Morbid Angel, John Monte from M.O.D./Mindfunk and in a non-Metal way you should all check out Back Door fetauring the picking God Colin Hodgkinson :)

... I've seen Oteil use a pick live with the Allmans on his 60's Jazz.

+ 1 on Rex Brown

Frank Bello was mostly a fingerstyle player with Anthrax who occasionally used a pick, but once he got the gig with Helmet, it's been the reverse. He's adept at both, I think.

James LoMenzo is mostly a fingerstyle player, but uses picks when the song needs it. Now that he's got the gig with MegaDeth, he's playing all their stuff pickstyle to keep it truer to the original stuff. Damn good player, LoMenzo is.

And Bill Clemens is awesome. He has a pick attached to that prosthetic arm of his and he simply smokes!

Sting is a finger player, at least all of the videos I have seen of him he was playing with his thumb reggie style. But he might have been using a thumb pick.

As of recent, he has been primarily a finger player. I believe back in the days of the Police, he did use a pick as it was needed.

Shavo of System Of A Down an be seen using a pick more times than not, but he's also a guitar player so that may be where his habbit comes from...Most people don't like him, but I've seem him to some things that are OUT THERE...

And I like his Gibson T-bird =D:bassist:
