any smokers switch to Vaping yet? [PART 2]

Since we reached 1000 posts, I figured we better create a part 2 :D

Here is the original thread:
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f34/any-smokers-switch-vaping-yet-695087/

Here is a picture of my current gear and my new Finn wallet (waxed canvas & zippered... fits money, cards & my phone).
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

For the vape gear...
1.) Touchwood Mini with an IGO-S topped with a CapItAll brass cap I did an ammonia and salt patina and a Sputnik drip tip from 1700 Fabricators that I torched to change color.
2.) GLV2 mini topped with a torched Hornet RA from Budzworx and a Rocket Science Mods Rocket tip.
3.) Juice pouch of my own design crafted by my wife with a 30ml bottle of Virgin Vapor's Hummingbird Fuel and a 30ml bottle of Sweet-Vapes Organic Sweet Cinnamon. They are both 100% VG and all organic... one at 4mg/ml and the other 6mg/ml.

I broke down and ordered a new mod today. I'm waiting for a killer copper+brass+stainless mod from the guy that made my long driptip to be released... and my wallet threw up on the interwebz today to fill the void on the gear I want and can't order ;)

It is a Sigelei Brass clone... It's not quite a Chi-You and not quite a Bagua, but is solid brass and completely void of counterfeit markings. I'll be running an IGO-W base with a CapItAll brass 'Hellfire' cap on it as well as a 'Weapon' tip from the guy who made my Sputnik.

This will be a dedicated mod for my LKA Vapes "JackD Single Barrel" flavored juice and run dual coil @ .8ohm total with 18350 batteries.

Do most of you use liquid with nicotine? Or without? I think I'm over the addiction, but it would be nice to "smoke" something.

Those of you who have been vaping for years, have you noticed any side effects? Any throat discomfort or itching?

I use 4 parts Ammonia and 3 parts White Vinegar with a couple tbs of no iodine salt... sand the pieces, wash with dish soap, soak in mixture, cake more salt on it, then place it on something to raise it above the solution in a sealed container (fumes do the work).

I did that twice for about 6-7 hours each day... on the 3rd day coated it with minwax finishing wax

I've been vaping for 6 months now and smoke free for as long. I love it.

Unfortunately my place of work just banned "e-cigarettes" a couple weeks ago. So lame. It was a HUGE mistake on their part to use the word cigarette in any way to associate with vaping.

Holy cow, this made it to a thread 2? Man, I haven't been around here for a bit.

Still vaping the same combo, with a few different juices thrown in. The Evods really made the difference in the world to me.

Now that income taxes are in, I'm strongly considering an MVP. Going to read up on it some more, watch some more videos on it though.

In the past three weeks, my year old Vivi Nova stopped threading onto my Innokin VTR. I figured "It's a year old, the threads were getting tired". Then a slightly younger Vivi Nova started doing the same thing, followed by a 3 month old iClear 30s and finally, a third Vivi Nova. I was thinking the VTR was ruining the threads but on a hunch, I threaded a "stripped" tank onto my old Bolt and lo and behold, it went on with no issues.

Apparently, the threads on my 3 month old, overbuilt VTR are dust! I know I didn't over tighten anything since threads rotate in the unit to prevent over tightening. I know the threads weren't torqued since the upper ring prevents movement! POS!

I've determined my VTR is a genuine Innokin product and have filled out one of their service forms. We'll see where that ends up. :hmm:

I know a few people digging on them. It is what I recommend for new vapers now as well. It is a good quality, solid device, at a great price. Personally I don't like electronics in my mods, and I'm not a fan of the form factor... but if it was out when I was starting, and before I established my biases, I'd have one too :)

Until last night I might have agreed with this. Went to see one of the projects my brother is involved in at a local bar and grill. Several of us arrived early to eat since the place has a rep for really good food. We placed our orders and while waiting on the food, the table next to us filled up with folks and at least two of them were vaping, and the smell was nasty to the extreme. It was bad enough we asked for another table so we could enjoy our meal. If it would have just been me I would have just kept my mouth shut but it was everyone at our table having trouble with the nasty smell. It smelled like a pile of really rotten fruit with some generic cleaning solvent poured on it.

It has to be pretty noxious to bother me, but this did.
