Any TB'ers in New Jersey?!

Hey guys,

Middletown, NJ here...
PKW Exits: 117, 114 or 109. I guess it depends if I coming from the north (117), south (109) or if the mood hits me to stay on the PKW in either direction (114).

I'm a new member and I just started to try to teach myself to play (pretty much no previous musical knowledge at all). I rented a Squire package about 3 weeks ago from Monmouth Music and I don't like it. But since the only things I've been practicing is muting, basic L/R hand technique and trying to learn the notes, I guess it serves it's purpose. And for $30/mon, I really can't complain.

Would any of you Jersey guys (more specifically Monmouth County area) want to hang out and jam. Well, more like hang out and I'll watch you jam (cause I can't "jam" yet). Hell, I'd even like to just sit in and watch a band practice if it was cool. I just want to hear what a real set-up would sound like and just see someone actually play. I watch plenty of clips on youtube, but my computer is old and crappy so when I watch the vids the music doesn't match the vid so it's pretty hard to actually see what's going on, even when they are playing slow to show proper technique.

So if anyone is cool with that, let me know. Oh, and-
I'll bring the beers... I'll bring the beers. (what movie?)

One more thing, anyone hitting up the PNC for any shows? I'm only about 10 mins. from there and try to catch a few each year. Maybe some of us could get together for some shows.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this place. I've learned a lot in the short time I've been playing just from lurking around here, so thank you to everyone for your help so far!:bassist:

hey, I've seen you guys before. cool. and, we both gig Valenti basses too. :bassist:

Unfortunately, tendinitis surgery in January took me away from the 5 string thing, and the Valenti is sold.:bawl:

I'm currently gigging a 4 string FSR Jazz that just smokes, so that eases my pain a little! Maybe later this year I'll have Nino do a 4 string for me. He came out to a gig last summer in Staten Island, and took a bunch of pics. He's an incredibly nice guy on top of everything else.

If you ever come to a show, introduce yourself! I'd love to meet more TB'ers.
