Any thoughts on the Guild Pilot?

There are a number of variables with the Pilot basses. Body wood, Pickup configuration, and active / passive.

I had a four string and it was really a remarkable bass. the only thing I didn't like was the 24 fret neck. I'm used to Fenders and the transition was not worth it for me. In all honesty, it sold for far less than it really should have. For that reason, you should research eBay and other sources for accurate pricing for a similarly equipped instrument. Me thinks $450 might be high. You should also play it. You may well like it and take it home.

I'm old enough to remember when Pilots were the shiz; seemed like everyone was playing them back then. They are uniformly great and amazingly undervalued/underappreciated these days. Funny to hear people say these are overpriced at $450, although I guess it must be true. But I can't think of much else at that price would touch it.
