I have been reading good things about them. Looking at maybe getting one. I heard marcus pays attention to detail and quality. The price is right. And they look real nice. Any thoughts?

I know he doesnt build them lol. But i read he had lots of input on quality and design
It's been discussed here, by regular members that bought one as well as those who "promote" them, methinks.

Well, I guess you want to read what it is that lead me to my opinion on these?
Here goes;
They don't say 'Marcus Miller' to me.
To me they have something 'cheapo' about them-both models I've seen.
Overall nothing about them appeals to me in view of all the there basses out there.
A guy asks for opinions and your contribution is that you haven't read anything about them because you're not interested.
It's like someone asks a room full of people what time it is and you chime in to say "I don't know".
But apparently you have read about them even though you said you didn't, and you think they seem cheap. There's an opinion.
Well 'reading about' them to me would mean doing a bit of research beyond what one can get from looking at the ads for a second.
I didn't do that.
Most importantly however; Most companies advertise their products ,saying something about their products-what it is that makes their instruments special, some technical info or special features. These mostly say 'Marcus Miller'; the name of a famous bassist associated with fender ( and sadowsky and bartolini).
and, yes; past that I think they look just a bit cheapo.
Does MM actually play one of these ?
There are dozens of pages in threads about the bass. Hundreds of comments. It has almost unanimously good reviews. I'm not particularly interested in owning one because I don't really like active jazz basses but I'm not gonna say it looks cheap based on a quick viewing of advertisements. Everything I've read seems to indicate the contrary.
I'm sure MM plays one from time to time, but he's not throwing away his Fenders. It's a budget bass not made for professional millionaire musicians with successful careers that span decades, though I have no doubt that it would sound great on stage in the right hands. It seems to be a quality instrument with attention to aesthetic and functional detail. You're entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is uninformed.
Informed enough for this issue, I'd say. And yes; if What I have seen had sparked even a little bit of interest ,I would have read the threads that I have seen pop up on these. I have laid out the reasons for my lack thereof.
Well that's different from your original response. A man asked for opinions and you chimed in to specifically state you don't have one. That seemed odd to me.
No I din't. I said that I had no interest in these whatsoever.
Now I've added the reasons why that is so.
The title of the thread is 'Any thoughts on the sire marcus miller'. The '?' is added in post #1. 'No' would have been a legitimate answer to this question.

Remember when Flea made his own cheap basses for new players then found out the number of new bass players or purchases at that price point are low and extremely competitive. Hopefully Marcus is smarter than that and only licensed out his name and provided some advice.
for me , Marcus would have carried more weight for an instrument back in the 90's .. ???
they 'look' cool ... but as with many less expensive models , ... something has to ' give' somewhere to reach said price point ... ??!? cutting out the middle man helps ... but we can't go play one .. ??

You should check out some of the threads on the subject, the Sire is nothing like the Flea bass, it's the opposite really, not at all cheap in anyway.
