Anybody been to India? Specifically Goa.

It sounded kind of expensive. Some of my colleagues were in Mumbai for a month this year and their driver was around $300 for the entire month.

We've hired drivers here in Delhi before, but not through hotels or anything, just independent drivers. They generally ask for around Rs. 600 a day for a 10 hour day, so that'd be less than $10 at the current rate. If you're taking the hotel route, it shouldn't be more than $15 tops.

That said, if you hire on your own, do it through a reliable source. Not all drivers are completely trustworthy.

I have been in New Delhi couple of times, my advice: Make sure you are up to date on routine and any recommended/required vaccines before travel.

Be ready for crowds, be careful with what you eat and drink, Indian food is great make sure that you dont over eat :), if you are not familiar with the culture, do as other do: take your shoes off, don't pass food or take food with your left hand, etc. Keep an open mind and enjoy the country, it is a very interesting place.

Pics or it didn't happen, right?
