Anybody else got a bass with unreal tuning stability?

I've done three gigs this week and not had to even touch the tuning on my bass at all (and I use a Hipshot to drop to D quite frequently). Pretty remarkable, really.

The bass in question is my J with the Status graphite neck.

My Sadowsky's have all been that way. Once you put on a set of strings, stretch them for a few minutes, the tuning never budges.

My old as hell Mustang rarely requires a tuning.

My Fenders have all been incredibly stable. My Jaguar especially has incredibly stable tuning even when placed in a gig bag.

My Bongo is essentially always in tune. The only changes I really ever have to make to it are very slight tweaks, and then of course going from Drop A-D to standard B-E

I got 3 that I KNOW of & possibly 4.

My RW 50's Precision strung with Labella Tapewounds I don't think I've had to adjust the pegs for the last 4 or 5 gigs(4-5 weeks with this bass) including a few rehearsals inbetween these gigs.

My Warwick $$ Corvette is the same- once the strings settle in (this time D'addario EXP coated rounds) me no toucha the tuning pegs. She's in tune. This bass's been like this since I got it a few yrs ago.

Gibson G3 1977 Alder model - just STAYS in tune. Again-strung with D'addario EXP coated Rounds, seems to stay in tune for months!! I've probly done 12 gigs with these strings on it over about 3 months.

I just got a Alleva-Coppolo EUT5 & since I put a new set of SIT rounds on it last week, I used this bass at all 3 gigs over the last weekend & one rehearsal before the gigs. After the rehearsal, it was in tune all weekend, I didn't have to tweak it at all. so MAYBE another.

My Bongo 5- that I gotta off load :-( is darn close too!! Seems to stay pretty much spot on. But IIRC I've hadda tweak it a li'l. Gosh darn it! ;-)

Usually I never have to tune between songs. All my basses are quite stable.

my squier VM P bass, which i am surprised the thing just stays in tune and i check everytime I play it but its always in tune .

Both my gigging basses are very stable. The one tends to go out of tune on the E, but only because the key tends to get straightened in the gig bag.

All my instruments hold tune, and so they should…
Do I have to tune them before a gig? Yes…because the tuners get knocked a little going in and out of gig bags (except for the Carvin in the hard)

I can generally pull any instrument out of it’s case, give it a tweak and off we go…and so it should be…

How often to I check my tuning on a gig? By habit, every time I put the strap over my shoulder.

That's quite amazing considering all the bizarre tuning alteration options in these things. Obviously talking (primarily) about Michael Manring's Hyperbass here.

In all honesty, most of the basses I've owned have been like that; at the very worst they might go -SLIGHTLY- flat, but just barely. My Warwick stays right on the money though, like no matter what! I sorta figured that's just how basses tend to be; my guitars, both electric and acoustic, have never been as stable.

I've had some nice, exotic stuff including a Steinberger and it's all gone at least a tiny bit out between gigs.

Except my old Kay plywood upright. I swear that thing holds its tune longer than most pianos.

My Zon and my Modulus are the most in-tune basses I've ever played.

My Warwick was shipped to me from the USA and arrived perfectly in tune!

I only ever have to make slight tweaks to it now and then, and only after playing something with lots of string bends, it's very stable.

as long as it's set-up properly, with no binding at the nut and well-seated strings, basses in general are pretty stable, at least compared to guitars.

My Steinberger! When i bought it it came out of the bag in tune and hadn't been played in years.
