Anybody gigging?

Here in Canada we are in a lockdown of sorts, depending on what part of the country you live in. But, NO ONE is gigging as far as I know. I'm curious if anyone in the US or Europe or Australia is able to gig, clubs, concerts etc.

I have one next month. Gigs are sparse but they're coming back.

I'm in Ohio, U.S. My last band had more gigs than I was comfortable with in 2020. I quit in November (for additional reasons too.)
An old band is doing a reunion and we have two gigs in March. With the restrictions in place, I don't think it's much fun. I'd just as soon not gig till we can party like we used to. However, I agreed to do a few shows way back before the pandemic, so I'll stick by my word.

nope, up here in the sticks in PA everything basically shut..still need a drummer......just me and guitarist drinking and smokin' more than playing. is just as well he didn't pickup his guitar for 7yrs as his wife was ill and passed away..So we got lots of catching up

We anticipate returning to outdoor, masked, and socially distanced gigging once the weather gets better. Indoor gigging seems a long way off here in Maryland, even as vaccinations are becoming more widespread.

I'm in London. Nothing 'real' booked tho I have an online gig in a few weeks. I was promoting an event before lockdown, should've have happened May last year, but I'm still not rescheduling.

I'm in PA.(USA). Gigs have opened up in Montgomery County. There's even indoor one's.I haven't decided to do those yet or not. A lot of Restaurant/Bars that have bands have set up big tarp tents & have propane blower heaters & keep tables apart,etc. I've did a couple of those in December & it worked out OK. It hasn't dipped down too low temperature wise yet although it has this weekend. I have one of those on February 19. They usually end at 8 or 9 latest.
A lot of these same places are doing indoors as well. I'm a bit leery of those. The indoor ones can get sloppy. In PA your supposed to mask until you sit down & mask when you get up to use the restroom or talk to someone or dance. You can take off your mask at your table. By the end of the night that usually goes to Hell. Especially the dancers.
I'm doing one a month right now. If I wanted to be unsafe I could probably do 4 to 6 a month.

I played a couple outdoor shows last summer, and some livestreams (playing outdoors, socially distanced, masked) since then. We were supposed to have a couple of outdoor gigs this weekend at a restaurant that is serving on a heated patio, but we had ice storms so they were cancelled. We've booked some winery gigs for July.

Except for a month break or so early in 2020, I was gigging (a bit less than usual) til December. Gigs were drying up and bandleader decided to give venues free gigs for the remainder of covid to cultivate good will. I said
"see you when the gigs pay again."

He's got someone playing bass for free now. Not as good a player, but he's a very nice guy and comes cheap so we'll see if I've got a chair when it's all over.

Yes....had my first one of 2021 Friday night. The calendar is starting to fill back up.

Edit: BL has kept busy doing solo shows. As a band we try and do no more than 4 gigs per month so filling the calendar isn't that difficult.

midwest, USA: not much going on here for most folks. nothing going on for me.

Here in Southern Ontario we're just coming out of lockdown this week where I am but prior to December 26th 2020 when the lockdown started we had live music happening here from August through December. I'm assuming it'll start back up again in a month or 2 if things gradually reopen without any issues.

2 gigs in the last year, 3 video recordings (straight to streaming). I've averaged around 1 show a week since 2008. Weird times.

I know some full time musicians and they have had some outdoor gigs before the weather got too cold, but we havent gigged since last Jan before the fan was hit. Sucks because we had finally stabilized our lineup at the time and had a bunch of gigs lined up with call backs.

Unfortunately the singer in our blues band has chosen to live under her bed since March and we have only done 3 gigs since. I have a friend who plays bass in one of the most popular tribute bands here in Dallas and since around May they have played big gigs more weekends than not.

sounds like she has some good old common sense.
