this amazing statement seemed to generate a preposterously sedated response...it just blows my mind that you actually own one of entwistle's basses!! that one looks very similar to the one i saw him playing when i was first inspired to try my hand at bass. i've thought about what it would be like to own one of his basses but ultimately i think it would be too overwhelming for me. anyway, sorry for the fanboy outburst...i couldn't help it haha.

Lol..... thanks for that. If you put 'awdar' in Youtube it brings up a video of John playing my B1.
The bass came to me via a director of the Entwistle Foundation and the reason I bought it was so that it would remain being played regularly - it is sad (to me anyway) that all of these incredible Status instruments which John played and loved are now hanging on HRC walls. They have to produce sound.... loud, loud sound! I still refer to it as 'John's bass'.... I'm just looking after it for him.
And yes, sometimes I find myself shaking my head in disbelief as I strap it on and launch into a Who song!

Rob is not in the habit of putting the logo where its visable though, his standard location is on the neck joint body side (end of fret board, but at the face side under the strings), when you play you usually obstruct it from view

but status are those kind of basses where once you see it you know what it is, if you dont then you ask what it is, then you know that they exist status have always had a strong word of mouth reputation and using one at a gig gets loads of comments, wether people know the brand or not.

i agree with you gareth, it is a real shame that only a few of the wake (a flock of buzzards is called a wake), are in use. to me the only ones that should be on a wall are/is the one that collapsd on john

I don't get that at all. The Status Graphite logo is so cool and I wish his basses had it in more visible spots. When I get really drunk tonight I might email Rob and ask him why he puts it in such obscure places.

As far as John's basses go, at least we know somebody felt that they were important enough to be cared for. I've heard that some of them are locked away in air condition vaults.

i just saw a B2 (its a pre warwick lawsuit as it has buzzard 2 on head) on ebay earlier.

it was in UK, and a grand less than i paid for mine new. it has a ding or two though and understandably is local pickup (like i said the case weighs a ton).

Do they know its made out of Graphite and climate change has little to no effect on the buzzard?

Have always been GAS'ing for one, Almost bought one of the used B2's for sale not to long ago, but the 2 sellers used so long time getting back to me that I ended up with 2 European Spector's instead.. I aint complaining.

But I will own a B2 one day.

Quite true.
Mine is the only B1 being used for purpose. The HRC own all of John's others except Brad Rogers in LA who owns one (he doesn't play and is the guy selling The Who stuff at Christies later this month) and Steve Luongo owns another one (John gave him two after the Japanese tour - one of which I now have), which is on his studio wall.
I believe John had 2 B2's and these were both sold at the Sothebys auction. One went to a guy in Nottingham, the other I don't know where it went. The guy in Nottingham plays his regularly.......
