Anybody own this signature model?

ok, Im sure tons of you all will hate the artist lol But thats ok. (I personally love him) But have any of you guys ever played/owned an Ibanez K-5? I was wondering because Ive always loved fieldy's bass EQ setup. It can do sooo much to the tone you get and from what Ive heard it can go from that signature low end clicky sound fieldy has, to a really defined well rounded jazz tone. Any experience?

I played one at my local store last year, and whilst i don't really dig the whole fieldy thing, if you want to sound like fieldy the fieldy bass will do that. Will it get a jazzy tone? Yeah, sure. Will you get a GOOD jazz tone from it? Not really. Bottom line is they're not a terribly versatile bass.

i own the k5 (the OL one, original one made in 2003). short answer, if you have a good amp etc you will be able to get almost any tone you want out of this (especially if you have an EQ pedal as well). i play pretty much anything from korn to primus and it does me good

i think it nonsense to pigeon hole a bass because you may not like the artist...im not a big fan of sig basses, but i love the thought of playing a sig bass, or a bass that is thought to be assoiciated with a certain style and playing it in another..

i think its very cool...as many have said before, its all in the fingers..

ive seen lots of cats play a Marcus Miller for rock...Meshell played a Gibson LP to great effect..that was the best example ive seen... im sure the K5 is a great versatile bass...
