I don’t care how many are made and why would something like that stop you from buying a bass you really wanted? Don’t buy it, plenty of others will take it. Also, no guarantee they do another run.

Sweetwater isn't taking pre-orders for the September launch until later this summer. I am really tempted to do so, but it's a lot of coin for something sight unseen!

I have one pre-ordered from them. Was told would see it in September.

Could be they are no longer taking orders, but give them a call just in case if you are interested.

Again, who cares about exclusivity? If I really want a guitar, I’m buying it. I don’t care if they make 100 or a million. Only person who cares about how many are made is someone shady just looking to flip it for well over retail with a RARE! posting on Reverb. Those people need to go away.

Re: Fenders, absolutely. Talkbass would make it look like every bassist owns 10+ instruments, but a friend owns a music store and doesn't regularly stock basses. He says that most bass players own one bass, an amp and maybe a tuner. Lawyer guitarists will buy many $5000+ guitars and they never leave their man cave. Oh, the other part of the story, the one bass that they own is usually a Fender P or J.

I played a Fender for quite a few years and grew continually dissatisfied with how it played and sounded. I moved on from Fender and decided that I’d never buy another.

I'd pay that much for the SS Stingray if people's first impressions are as glowing as the reviews were for EBMM's other passive basses, but it's hard to know whether to start saving when there's nothing to go on but aesthetics. I'd think an early demo would stoke demand. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but don't 100 people already have these from the first batch unveiled at NAMM? If so, I'm surprised there's nothing online.

I feel like "Limited run — only 100 available worldwide" should qualify. Also, I feel like you and I have different ideas about the actual value of their products.

I did a NBD post but I figured I'd check in here. Got it last Wednesday, used it for both nights this past weekend. LOVE IT! Everyone else said it sounded great too. Has become my No. 1 electric. Here's a pic from Saturday's gig.

Love that finish/pickguard combo. Happy to hear from multiple people that it sounds as good as it looks. If I hadn't just bought a Kubicki I'd for sure be trying to source one of those to Canada. Congrats on the awesome bass!

This SS Stingray is awesome. For being passive it gots balls. Had to adjust truss rod a bit. No big deal. As good as my Custom CB Bass. Love my new Short scale bass stingray. Also picture of my Custom hand made S-bass also short scale. Custom pickguard on my SS stingray.

Birdsongs ARE awesome (I currently have 2 of them)! But I'm really diggin' my Stingray these days; just a different flavor I guess.

I'm just going off what a guy at L&M told me. It's pretty steep for sure. They're not in their system yet, so maybe he's wrong. Either way, looking forward to seeing a demo.
