This Sadowsky PJ is my #1. Not a buzz on the neck, perfect setup for me with medium-low action and minimal relief. I've had alot of different strings on it, but settled on Hi Beams for about a year now.
I've used DR Hi-Beams 45-105 and 45-100 and never had a problem on this bass, probably 6, 7 sets. I had a set a few months back where the D string buzzed all the way up and down the neck. Pulled a D from another set, no buzz. Since then I've tried a set of Fat Beams, 45-105, no buzz, had a set of GHS on for a day, no buzz. I decided to go back to the brighter Hi Beams yesterday and got another buzzy D string. I kept the first buzzy D, and when I put it back on it's indeed worse than today's D. I put the Fat Beams back on, and no buzz anywhere.
Anyone else getting bad strings in these sets? I don't know what would cause this other than tension? I really like Hi Beams but not at this price if more will have bad D strings.... I have not had a buzzy string in any other brand or even other DR types.
