Anyone else have a Gibson Victory?

I just got this one today and I'm loving it. I had one back in the late 80s but during my 25 years away from playing it got sold with all my other gear. It's in pretty damn good shape for being 36 years old! I know there other Gibson lovers here and would like to see if anyone else has one of these.

I missed out on one a little over a year ago in the same color for $975…definitley prefer the single pickup model…and have regretted it ever since.

I've never tried one (own an EB-3 and an EB-2) but a buddy of mine who was primarily a Fender player had one years ago and loved it.

I’ve seen those and wouldn’t mind having one too. I also like the Bass IV that has the Flying V head stock.

Don't own one, but always thought they were great looking basses, especially the Victory Artist.

The Q-80 & Bass IV were seriously cool too.

Had one. Pawn shop. $200. 1985?. Played once. Weighed about 14 lbs. sounded good, but what a heavy , neck diving beast.

I really wanted a Victory a few decades ago and tried one. It looked good, played very well and sounded good but it was just too heavy.

I didn't notice that before, but now that you pointed it out I also see three switches rather than just two.

Saw them in London, back in those dim, dead days...

John Wetton - may he rest in peace - was one of my biggest influences and always sounded out of this world good.

As for the Victory Bass...didn't care for them when they were new, like them a lot better nowadays, and wouldn't mind owning one in the least. My, oh my, how people change...

I put a soft leather strap on it and don’t seem to have a neck dive problem. It does weigh a ton but I’m good with that as it sounds better than my other basses.
