You can pick up a 4003 for way cheaper than that. Musician's Friend sells 'em for $1399 and you can get one from Pick of the Ricks for around $1300 shipped.

).I gotta respectfully disagree with you on that one (well, maybe I spend a bit too much time here, but still...).
I've played a few different basses that just didn't have the sound I was after. But I've played many more that do. My point is that if I don't like the sound of a bass, I don't like it. If a certain bass doesn't get the sound I'm hearing in my head, then it obviously isn't for me. Especially when there are so many out there that do get the sounds I am after.
What is the ballpark price for a new Rick these days??
