Anyone else pulling an all nighter?

I keep telling myself im staying up because I just dont want to sleep, but to be entirely honest its sort of a ****** night, no clue why. Just one of those moods ya know? Why sleep when I can sit here and torture myself right?

I practiced bass earlier during the 1st basketball game, then after a little piano and more coffee, I stayed with the guitar until I had enough....Headphones and more coffee.....good night............................

I feel for you: one of those nights when nothing can quell the storm in your head, raging for no reason (or so I perceive).

Hell ya, I just have one class at 9:25 tomorrow. I'm jamming all night with my fender all pro 300. It's not a long walk to campus and I don't mind showing up a little buzzed since I absolutely aced the last Organic Chemistry exam. Keep in touch about whatever, I'm around. Also, I've been playing bass non-stop for 11 years, I may seem like a kid, but i got grit!

-Long sleep into the weekend is what I;m planning.

Sounds like me, I'm 21, been playing for 13 years, most people dont believe me when I tell them. Learning the basics and stuff early really helps later on. I can concentrate more on writing music rather then learning, although its a never ending learning process as we all know.

I'm 21 as well. Dam, I thought i had the record for earliest 21 year old to start playing the bass on this forum. But ya, starting early on seems to give guys like us many advantages. A fundamental understanding you can't learn after you've turned about 16. I like your style, I'll remember your name for future posts to come. Also, I'm still here for the rest of the night, Shoot me whatever.

No doubt, learning early really helped me grow up with it as a part of who I am. So instantly when I pick up my bass...any bass...I feel at home. I surprisingly found a 9 string very comfortable to play on right off the bat. Took me a minute or two to get my head around the idea of more then twice the strings but after that it was smooth sailing. Now only if I could afford one. and yeah I've yet to meet someone whos been playing as long as I have from such a young age, yet I know people twice my age who have been playing for the same amount of time that aren't nearly as talented, not to toot my own horn or anything lol.

Also, I saw you on that DWI thread. We got it down. We know what were doing. It's all experience and knowing your boundaries. And ya, we got advantage (in terms of bass playing) over the others, let's exploit it!!!

I agree, I do know my boundaries, and I don't stretch them. I'll admit I've been trashed and spent a good 30 seconds staring at my keys in my hand. Never once gotten behind the wheel if I feel impaired, I might be drunk but I'm not stupid. I've also been drinking since a young age lol so I tend to be a little more on the normal acting rational side when im drunk then most people my age.

Ya, by the time i was 18 my parents let me drink as much as I wanted. At the time I thought it was cool, but now I see what they were doing. Now that I'm 21, and can buy alcohol myself, but know my limits and can recognize to a precise tee my level of drunkeness. That's what I'd like to do with my kids as well.

I never saw any problems with drinking from a young age with my parents, its common around these parts. Small town in the country, not hurting anyone one bit. If anything I think it helped give me some perspective for later years. Watching my peers being blabbering buffoons while I was calm and collected drinking. I certainly can put away a lot more then most if I choose and stay on my feet. I'll probably let my kids drink with me if they choose to, when they're the right age. If they choose to stay away from it then more power to em.
