.Wrong place.
.....they had a lot of crowd interaction.
I did right when the Sweater Song was getting popular. They were opening for Green Day. We booed them off the stage after a few songs. The singer said something about what jerkoffs we were and we didn't deserve to hear the Sweater Song.
So yeah, I don't have quite the same impression about them as you do.

rivers IS a downer, especially for the other guys in the band. that's why weezer's original bassist left, and their original second guitarist, and the guys who originally replaced them. rivers is a complete dictator who tells everyone what to play, refuses to do anyone else's songs even if they're good, has to sing every single song and play every single guitar solo, and is completely unbendable. one could argue that his singlemindedness is what made them what they are, but it doesn't seem like a fun environment to me, and the turnover rate in that band is indicative of it.My brother saw them last year; he said Scott and Pat were entertaining as hell but that Rivers seemed like a downer.
I saw them in Off Topic when they should have been in Miscellaneous.
