I think you might be taking your bass playing too seriously, and taking guitar center's motives in the wrong way.

I don't see how it's rude. But, YMMV.



Fair warning - don't watch Metalocalypse. Those writers are particularly hard on bass players.

To me, it's like someone yelling out "...is anybody a doctor?!?!" That's not slamming doctors. It's asking for a specialist that knows what they are doing.

Making humorous remarks and jokes towards bass players is nothing new and can be common, just have to laugh at them, shrug them off and not take them so serious and of course as others have mentioned retaliate back with some humor and jokes of your own most often about either guitar players or singers or both.

It is funny, come on, he is a bass player, he is easily and immediately replaceable.

Therefore, I should avoid Guitar Center.

And not just because the service/selection/quality/everything else is total crap. I have this, too.

This is a funny one that was told to me by a drummer friend: "What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians?" - "A bass player".
