have a Warmoth short scale? I have decided to look for something lighter to take me to my "golden" years. I have had some back issues and my current bass is pretty hefty. If anyone has any suggestions for a good bass that is light, whether it be standard, medium, or short scale, I would appreciate your recommendations. Thanks a lot!

nope, can't help you with the warmouth... but
i DO know the absolute lightest bass i have ever seen. it is lighter than most guitars.
check on ebay and find an old Hagstrom IIB.
they were made in about the 60's, but you can still find them for under 1000.00. and the bonus is the sound! they have old hagstrom pick ups and sound almost as loud, and definitely as good as modern actives. shoot, they sound better... it is one of his favorite basses to play based on sound alone!

he loves it.... takes it to school and generally has no complaints with it.

ps-edit... oh, and by the way, it IS short scale. he currently has a set of Rotosound 77 short scales on it (small guage) and they fit great.

matter of fact, here is a pic of one for sale at the Low End shop in murfreesboro right now.
it is technically a Hagstrom I not a IIB but they are essentially the same bass. i don't know what Brian is asking for it, but I guarantee you could pick it up for substantially under 1000.00. probably for @ 500.00 or so.
