Anyone into these overdrive stompboxes?

Very nice... and lollollol (yeah, we should ban Templar ;-)
excellent photo. And we sure do not need Viagra, bassagra is fine! When I searched "Ezekiel" it threw some Ancient Egyptian stuff!!! lololol. At last ok, found it. Thread has expanded into other brands too, cool, Tonefactor, D*A*M, Tec21, it sounded too modern for me I think... I run into Frantone too, but I guess it's sounds are too fat for me... the desighs are lovely!!! I think I lean towards Lovetone Cheese Source, I liked markjazzbassist's review. It is expensive but it's 2 in 1. The Guyatone has been indeed discontinued. This week I'm gonna search at the local shops here in Birmingham.

Thanks for the advice Toasted I’ll keep it in mind for the Lovetone, 2 days ago I tried the maybe most usual pedal, the Boss-ODB3 or so and it sounded far better than my Korg AX10B multifx, which I wanna get rid of. But still, I haven’t tried any analog/tube/germanium/semiconductor/whatever to understand better how they sound. I think most will be too raw for me. There are TOO many choices, and it’s confusing. Some guitar o/d pedals have a low end suitable for bass guitar and vice versa. Many samples of bass overdrive pedals are recorded with a guitar! This way I can’t figure out much. I guess I just have to try in stores whatever I can and see by myself. A month ago I tried for fun the Boss MT-2 metal zone from a pozer guitarist here, and it was strange but surely not what I have in mind! I attach the file. It’s Ibanez SR-300 custom fretless  Boss MT-2 metal zone  a GUITAR marshall amp around 30-50W I don’t remember (didn’t care)  Beyerdynamic M201TG mic  Hercules FW 1612 audio inteface at 16bit/96khz. I will also listen to many old stuff I have and pay more attention to overdriven basses. Yeah, that should be cool. After all, whatever I buy, I can sell it later.

Finally I ordered today the Guyatone BB-X from http://www.godlyke.com/
Although it is discontinued, there are still some left...
But e-mail them cause they don't list them on the website... I'll post review/samples when I am at ease with it.

Interesting, I wonder if they have any purple Flip bass comps left over.

Oh I forgot to mention that the BB-X may need a tube swap, depending on what 12AX7 comes in it. I got mine from TB'er Sunbeast, and he had a good tube in it already. Just sayin'....
